Our Practice
Design begins with listening. Lasting places begin with trust.
Built on experience
For nearly two decades, Danielle Tillman has guided projects from vision to implementation, bringing together architecture, planning, and strategic leadership to create places that strengthen communities.
At d. idea lab, thoughtful design begins with listening. Every project is rooted in understanding people, place, and purpose before form. It is about creating places that strengthen communities, support organizations, and improve everyday life.
Philosophy
Ideas first. Design follows.
Every project begins with questions before answers.
We believe the strongest work grows from listening carefully, understanding context, and building trust with the people who will shape and use a place. Whether developing a campus master plan, guiding community engagement, or designing a building, our approach remains the same: thoughtful decisions create lasting impact.
Design is not simply a response to a program. It is a process of discovery that aligns vision, people and purpose.

Our Approach
Listen First.
Every project begins by understanding people, priorities, and place.
Building Alignment.
Successful projects require consensus long before construction begins.
Lead with Clarity.
Clear communication and thoughtful leadership create momentum throughout every phase of a project.
Every decision should strengthen the communities and organizations a project is meant to serve.
Design with Purpose.
Architecture has the power to shape more than skylines. It shapes opportunity, belonging, and everyday life.
At d. idea lab, every project begins with listening and ends with places that strengthen communities for generations.
